Card for My Pen Pal

I belong to a card club and my friend Michele had us make a card like this along with some beautiful paper flowers. I was shopping at my Beverly's last week and saw the exact stamp PLUS I had a coupon, so....I had to get it!...and I made this card for my WONDERFUL card maker friend and pen pal in British Columbia...LA - I hope this one has arrived! (The "HELLO" is from the SU set called Elementary Elegance.) Michele had us add some blush with a Q-tip on the cheek. It might be hard to tell from the photo, but that touch of blush adds a lot to the final finished look...and the wet embossing of the stamped image adds a touch of elegance as well. Here are the cards we made at Michele's house:

Cards This Week

I used free clip art from Word for this step birthday card
for our good friend, Beto - a soccer coach!

This card is one of my classic favorites and a
GREAT way to use up scraps!

New Flower Punch

I finally had time to make my first card using Stampin' Up's Blossom Petals punch! Someone showed online how they took an embossing stylist and made vertical straight lines through the petals to give the flower texture and curled them slightly so it looked more like a real flower. (Love that Pinerest!) While I had everything out, I made 3 so this one is going to my son's girlfriend and my sister. I'll have to see if I can part with the third one! (The embossing folder is called Framed Tulips - also from SU - and I use it a lot.)...and here's a helpful hint: Use a square punch in the corner only to create the edges for a small  banner as seen on the "Happy Birthday" raised banner for this card.)

Cute Creatures!

My friend Sharon just sent me a pic of these cute raccoons that she made using punches. Thanks, Sharon, for making me smile!

Thank You Card

Here's an idea for using up scraps of your favorite papers
that you just can't bear to throw out!
(The saying is a rub on and the inside sentiment says:
...a faithful friend is best.)
HINT: Use the corner of a square punch to make
the banner effect!

Last of My Easter Cards Sent!

Here are two side step Easter cards that I made yesterday:

...and I found this sentiment/saying for Easter cards online and modified it slightly to include just some of these thoughts. It gave me a good chuckle...so here goes...

LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY:

Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
Walk softly and carry a big carrot.
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
There’s no such thing as too much candy.
All work and no play can make you a basket case.
A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention.
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
Some body parts should be floppy.
Keep your paws off other people’s jellybeans.
Good things come in small sugar-coated packages.
The grass is always greener in someone else’s basket.
An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.
To show your true colors – you have to come out of your shell.
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.
